Hello!
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me.
This is where you can learn more about me, my experiences, and why I've decided to run for ISD 622's School Board. If you still have questions, click the "Contact" link above to get in touch.
About Me
I've lived in North St. Paul for 5 years with my wife Bridget, my son Liam (we moved here 3 weeks before he was born!), and our pup Maeby. In our time here we've grown to love the numerous parks within walking distance (Casey Lake and Silver Lake are favorites), the Friday night car show downtown, and short bike rides to visit our favorite friend, North St. Paul's snow man mascot!
I grew up in the South Metro. My father taught English and Theater for ISD 191, and I had the unique pleasure of taking several of his classes in high school. Because of that, I've experienced public education from the perspective of a student, parent, and teacher from a young age.
After high school I studied theater at the University of Minnesota and Nonprofit Management at St. Mary's University of Minnesota. I began my career touring the Midwest presenting educational theater with CLIMB Theater Company, before moving into event and venue management. After 15 years managing venues like The Brave New Workshop Comedy Theater, the O'Shaughnessy Auditorium, and the Fitzgerald Theater, I began a new career at the University of Minnesota's College of Science and Engineering.
Throughout my career, whether performing for young learners or promoting the work of young scientists and engineers, I have been inspired by the next generation. I strive to maintain the same sense of curiosity and wonder that I see in students like my son. And I hope that, in some small way, I can help them achieve their full potential.
I also see that this is a difficult time for public education. Students, families, educators, and administrators are struggling with limited budgets and outsized expectations. Since moving to the district I have been involved with Citizens for ISD622 and the Early Childhood Advisory Board, working to provide additional resources for our students and teachers. Now, with your support, I hope to keep doing that work as your representative on ISD 622's School Board.
